FACT Project is Supported:
The "FACT - Future All Aviation CNS Technology" Project, which is a SESAR H2020 Project, aims to create a bridge between the transformation that started with the differentiation of the players in the airspace and new communication, navigation and tracking (CNS) technologies. The “FACT” Project, which aims to make the vision for digitalization and increasing automation in airspaces possible, called U-space, seeks to bring together future airspace operations and technologies that will shape the future, such as 5G, by taking into account safety, safety, efficiency and flexibility metrics.In this respect, the "FACT" Project will produce operation scenarios for both general aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles with CNS technologies and realize them in the field. The project is coordinated by Honeywell. In project consortium ITU, EUROCONTROL, Nokia, AOPA, Sarp Aviation and Eskisehir Technical University are present. It is planned to conduct airspace tests in Eskisehir with fixed wing aircraft, helicopters and unmanned air vehicles, and to use and test CNS systems to be developed by Honeywell and Nokia in these vehicles. The ITU team that is led by Assist.Prof.Dr. Ramazan Yeniçeri will carry out the integration of new CNS systems to unmanned aerial vehicles, field tests and operations of these systems.
The total budget of the "FACT" Project is 2 Million Euros and ITU has a 20% share of the project. The project will last 30 months and will start in July 2020.
