Istanbul Technical University takes part in the Erasmus + Program Vocational Education Strategic Partnerships (KA202) project titled "ECVET Skills Platform" and numbered "2019-1-TR01-KA202-077191" as a Project Partner:
The Project Description:
European education and training systems continue to fall short of providing the right skills for employability and do not sufficiently work with jobs or employers to bring the learning experience closer to the reality of the work environment. The mismatches in these skills are a growing concern for the competitiveness of European industry.
In this context; this project aims to develop a platform where vocational education systems and the labor market, especially SMEs, communicate interactively, while voting / appraising the skills needed, on the other hand, vocational systems will respond to this vote by updating the existing curriculum. In addition, it is believed that the training content developed on skills analysis and mapping through the ECVET Skills Platform serves the quality of vocational education and training systems and gives the task of teaching personal and conceptual skills to experts responsible for teaching technical skills.
The target group of the project are vocational education and training institutions, vocational education and training teachers / trainers, SMEs, employers, decision makers, non-governmental organizations and trainees. It aims to create a channel between the target audience members to enable them to learn about the needs and requirements of companies and the skills provided in educational institutions.
