Textile based soft sensing actuators for soft robotic applications-TexRobots

The Project “Textile based soft sensing actuators for soft robotic applications-TexRobots " was Supported by Horizon 2020 Programme:

Research project proposal of Dr.Özgür Atalay entitled" Textile based soft sensing actuators for soft robotic applications-TexRobots" was supported by the European Union Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowships 2018 call with an evaluation rating of 94.60%.

In this project, researchers combine textile technology and robotics science to produce textile-based robotic structures. These structures, which will be produced, are intended to be used in the treatment of individuals experiencing novelization. In addition, textile-based robotic structures that will be produced are expected to offer safe use by fully adapting to the body thanks to their flexibility and softness properties. Dr. Gokhan Ince from ITU Faculty of Computer and Informatics is taking part in the project as a supervisor.

The 2-year project, with a total budget of 157355 Euro, aims to create national and international cooperation and contribute to the development of soft rehabilitation devices on a global scale.Dr.Atalay completed his master's and doctorate at the University of Manchester in England. He conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University in the United States. Atalay continues his academic studies at ITU Textile Technology and Design Faculty.
