2018 Erasmus + Higher Education Strategic Partnerships Project of ITU School of Foreign Languages Accepted:
The project of ITU School of Foreign Languages titled “Immersive Business and Engineering English in Virtual Reality: A Tool for the Sustainable Mobility of the Skilled Workforce in the EU (I-BEE-VR)” was accepted by the Erasmus + Programme.
Project Description:
I-BEE-VR is an innovative project planned to take 36 months to develop an international joint professional English curriculum supported by virtual reality applications for Engineer candidates. It is carried out under the Coordination of Istanbul Technical University School of Foreign Languages.
It was among 10 projects supported from 77 applications and was eligible for a grant of 259.000 Euro.
The main objective of the project is to support sustainable international skilled labour mobility and employment. The innovative curriculum to be prepared in this context aims to prepare them for professional life in Multinational Workplaces by increasing the professional English language competencies of Engineer candidates with virtual environments that simulate business scenarios.
A preliminary needs analysis study will determine the needs of the business world and stakeholders, and a new professional English curriculum will be created in this direction, which will be prepared for undergraduate students.
